A collection of three books, "Yablychek", "Glyanu u okontsa", "Nihto dabrom ne dats zbavlennya". The books were named after songs sung in criminal circles of the time. They were written by Sergei Pyasetsky in 1946–1947.
The books describe the events of 1918–1919, when bandits, swindlers, and prostitutes began to flock to the front-line city from all corners of the former Russian Empire in search of easy money. The lyrical life of the main character, the criminal Alik Baran, is inscribed in the whirlwind of events and the life of the city. The pulse of events keeps the reader engaged from the first to the last line of the trilogy.
"Yablychek" is the first novel from the "Minsk Trilogy" by Sergei Piasetski, a famous Polish-Belarusian novelist. With his characteristic colorfulness, the author tells about the closed and mysterious thieves' environment of Minsk at the beginning of the 20th century. The action in the novel unfolds in the early spring of 1918, when the First World War turned Minsk into a front-line city, where thieves, prostitutes and swindlers from all over Europe and the former Russian Empire flocked with the hope of quick earnings.
The novel, which combines humor and tragedy, describes crimes and the inner world of criminals, captivates from the first pages, keeping you in suspense until the last sentence.
"I'm Looking Through the Window..." is the second novel from the "Minsk Trilogy" by Sergei Piasetski, a famous Polish-Belarusian novelist. With his characteristic colorfulness, the author tells the story of the closed and mysterious criminal environment of Minsk at the beginning of the 20th century.
The novel takes place from early spring 1918 to August 1919, a time of the collapse of empires and the militant rise of new states. At that time, Minsk, as a large front-line city with ample opportunities for professional criminals, was a gathering place for criminals from all over the world.
"Nobody Will Give Salvation by Good" is the third book in the "Minsk Trilogy" by Siarhei Piasetski, a famous Polish-Belarusian novelist. We continue to follow the fates of the heroes we already know - the Minsk villains Alik Baran, Yass Natsevich, and Filip Lysy.
The last novel in the trilogy describes the events of 1919, when German troops left Minsk and Bolshevik commissars took over. What changes came for the scoundrels and thieves? What did the new authorities bring with them? And what did Kamarovka become famous for then?
"Nobody Can Give Salvation by Good" is a book in which life pulsates and passions swirl. The author fascinatingly tells about the mysterious and closed world of villains, full of adventures and ventures, dangers, funny and tragic mishaps, as well as strong feelings and sincere love.
