From Panikovka to Shayba

The book "From Panikovsky to the Puck: a guide to partying Minsk of the nineties" (authors - Pavel Volotovich, Alexey Kovalev) is a kind of guide to informal Minsk of the nineties. Unique eyewitness accounts of events from the recent past are collected here. The book contains rich illustrative material.

"We divided our book into three parts: Minsk party, Minsk club and Minsk "golden". The main criterion for systematization was the presence of money in the pockets of our heroes.

The "Minsk Party" section tells about people who spent their free time on benches in parks and on steps in underground passages, sometimes without even a subway token in their pocket.

The section "Minsk Club" tells about the attempt to establish a clubbing tradition in Minsk in the 90s and why it (in the opinion of many) was not very successful. To hang out in clubs, some minimum funds were needed - at least to buy an entrance ticket and a bottle of beer in a bar.

The third part of "Golden Minsk" is devoted to establishments whose names were heard by everyone, but which were accessible to only a few, since the sums equal to the average annual salary of ordinary Minsk residents were included in the evening of fun.
