Frasca is a poetic literary genre that has been widespread in Polish literature since the 16th century. In the usual sense, the word "frasca" denotes some trifle. One of the founders of the genre, characteristic of Polish literature, was Jan Kochanowski (1530 - 1584) - the first great national poet of the Renaissance. Frasca were also written, in particular, by Julian Tuwim and Wisława Szymborska, but one of the leading poets who used this genre was Stanisław Jerzy Lec.
