Black sky

In 2014, Icelandic poet Ádalsjáin A. Sigurðursson was a guest at the Mikhas Streltsov International Poetry Festival "Poems on the Asphalt." The result of the visit was this book, translated by Maria Pushkina:

Last night
I heard again.
how to spread your wings
a host of angels.

I silently got up.
out of bed
looked out the window
painted with frost.
⠀
In the garden
fresh snow fell
bird tracks and
if you look closely
footprints of angels
easily recognizable
on the wings
rebelled
white fabric.

As an afterword, the publication is supplemented by an essay by Polotsk ethnographer and poet Vladimir Lobach, which brings Belarus and Iceland closer together at the level of symbols.
