The civil war in Angola, described in this book, ended only in 2002, and the publicist was in this large country (six times larger than Belarus in terms of territory and twice as many people) in southwestern Africa in 1975. He saw and described the beginning of the conflict, but even three months of living there was enough to feel what the people of Angola were experiencing: the lack of familiar things, hunger, the threat of violent death.
