The mythological-heroic epic "Iliad", the creation of which, around the middle of the 8th century BC, is attributed to the semi-legendary Greek poet Homer, and the record was first made two centuries later, became the property not only of the beautiful writing of Ancient Greece. Thanks to translations into a large number of languages of the world, the work took an honorable place in the treasury of world literature. The plot of the poem is based on an episode of the Trojan War, which, according to the testimony of most modern historians, could have taken place on the border of the 13th and 12th centuries BC.
This edition includes the full text of the Iliad, along with footnote comments, glossaries, and a list of additional sources necessary for the modern reader to understand the work.
