Before us is a classic novel of post-classical Belarusian literature, in which local reality is viewed through the magical crystal of dreams and visions.
The third, expanded and expanded version of the novel adds two new stories ("Autumn in Grodno" and "The Holes"), as well as "The Publisher's Postscript", which upon closer examination turns out to be notes from an unknown reader, found by the author in the Klakotsky Archive in 2023.
