Ales Bialiatski

The book shows the emergence and development of civic activism in Belarus — and the personality of Ales Bialiatski as one of its most prominent representatives. It reveals to the reader a Belarus that continues to fight for truth, human rights, for its culture and independence.

The publication uses Bialiatski's memoirs, published in his various books, publications in periodicals, speeches at conferences, in courts, written in letters for freedom, in numerous interviews with Belarusian and foreign media. The book also contains statements by Ales's associates. This is a dialogue with him, a tribute to our friend and colleague, an opportunity to say "thank you" to him. This is our "Long live Belarus!" to him, shouted from behind the walls of the prison, to which we will hear the unchanging answer "Long live!" - firm, with a calm and confident smile.
