The largest man-made disaster in Belarus. The tragedy was unexpected and expected. On April 10, 1942, due to the collapse of a dam, a flood occurred on the Dubraventsa stream in Mogilev, which went down in history as the "Mogilev tsunami". The victims of the disaster ranged from several hundred to several thousand people, one hundred and fifteen residential buildings were swept away by waves of water and broken by meter-high ice floes, several dozen more were damaged, and in many others, people choked and drowned in their rooms, not having time to crawl out onto the street. The flood lasted only twenty minutes, and it was twenty minutes of deathly screams, a terrible roar, groans, wailing, crying...
