The book is a collection of the author's memories and reflections on his travels, during which he repeatedly visited the countries of Central and Eastern Europe - Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Ukraine, Romania, Moldova and Transnistria. The author mentions people, customs, describes places and landscapes. Of particular interest are the writer's reflections on the mentality and customs of the inhabitants of this part of Europe, which many consider backward and primitive. This is a book of travel, but not only in geographical terms. It also involves a journey in a spiritual sense. These are reflections on life and on the transcendental.

In 2008, the author received the Vilenica Prize for this book .
