"The Jewish State" and "The Old New Land" are works by Theodor Herzl, the founder of political Zionism, which played a key role in the Jewish national movement.

"The Jewish State" (1896) is a thorough work (pamphlet) that analyzes the then difficult situation of Jews scattered throughout the world, and on the basis of this analysis proposes a solution - the unification of Jewish communities in their own national state. "The Old New Land" (1902) is a work of fiction that presents a vivid vision of the future Jewish state, a utopian novel in which elements of a philosophical and economic treatise border on descriptions of human relationships and everyday situations. Both books at one time inspired people to a common cause, which was embodied in the creation of the state of Israel.
