Feminization of the Belarusian language

The monograph "Feminization of the Belarusian Language" is devoted to the analysis of feminine agentive and professional names (Nomina agentis) in the Belarusian language both from a historical perspective (in Old Belarusian) and in two usages of the modern Belarusian language (tarashkevitsy, narkomavtsy). In addition, the work covers a comparative perspective - an attempt to clarify how feminine-agentives function in modern Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian and French languages. The work analyzes the reasons for the marginalization of feminines, as well as the practices and mechanisms of their demarginalization undertaken in the context of fiction and gender studies.
