The book “How “Heritage” Was Compiled”, the third in the subseries “Heritage: Reviews” of the “Library of the Fatherland” series of the Association of Belarusians of the World “Fatherland”, is a correspondence-based story about how a collection of selected poetry by Yanka Kupala was prepared in the West in the 1950s. The correspondence between the compiler Vytautas Tumas and the publisher Stanislav Stankevich, preserved in the BINiM archive and transferred to the BDAMLM, tells about the time and people, as well as the difficulties that the emigrants had to overcome so that a unique edition of the classic’s works could be published in Munich in 1955. This is the first Belarusian book about a book.
