1939 and Belarus: The Forgotten War

The book by contemporary Belarusian researcher Anatol Trafimchyk is dedicated to the most controversial issues related to the participation of the Belarusian people in the events of the beginning of World War II. From a Belarus-centric perspective, a detailed analysis is provided of the causes, preconditions, and course of the military conflict's unfolding, truthfully characterizing the place and significance of Belarus in the political games of European states during the interwar period. Particular critical attention is paid to the problem of the "liberation" and "unification" of Western Belarus with the BSSR in 1939 and the establishment of Soviet power there.
