The monograph analyzes the main methods and models of stochastic service theory, focused on the study of information systems whose behavior is described by stochastic processes. The methods mentioned are the differential equation method, which is used to study Markov systems, and the methods of additional events, nested Markov chains, and linear processes, which are used to study semi-Markov service systems.
