To a bright future! Belarusian society during the "thaw" era (1953-1968)

Using a large number of archival primary sources, periodicals, and historical literature, an important period of Belarusian Soviet history, known as the "thaw," is examined. Criticism of the cult of personality and rehabilitation of victims of political repression, the development of space and peaceful atomic energy, economic reforms and improvement of people's material life, and finally, an attempt at the forced construction of communism, irreversibly changed Belarusian society. Various plots collected under one cover create a stereoscopic picture of the life of the then Belarusian society and reveal the internal logic of its development. The publication is intended for historians, teachers, students, and everyone who is interested in the history of modern Belarus.
