Nevertheless, the facts and stories combine to form a picture of 20th-century Belarus, and it cannot be said that this picture is incomplete or untrue. It speaks of the boundary between good and evil in the soul of the Belarusian person, which some crossed, plundering gentry estates, while others did not, expanding enlightenment and increasing prosperity.
