"The Body is Also an Archive" is a book about personal experience, boundaries, and freedom of self-expression.
It collects essays by Nastya Mantsevich (Belarus, 2019–2023) and poems by Alok Vaid-Menon (USA) from the collection *Femme in Public* in Belarusian translation.
The authors explore corporeality, gender, power, and violence—from the familial to the state—through the prism of the personal and the poetic.
These are texts in which the word and the body become a single space of resistance and freedom.

The book includes essays by Nastya Mantsevich (Belarus), written during 2019–2023, and poems by Alok Waid-Menon (USA) from the collection Femme in Public (2017) translated by Nastya. The original and translated texts unite the themes of borders: from state and bodily to gender, the study of the relationships between them, as well as reflection on domestic, family and state violence. Through literary expression, there is a search (demand) for one's place, freedom for the word (text) and the body.
