Uladzimir Karatkevich's novel "Chazenia" transports the reader to the exotic and mysterious world of the Far East, where love and the destinies of the characters intertwine with strange natural phenomena and ancient legends. The action of Uladzimir Karatkevich's novel "Chazenia" takes place in the Far East, in a land with unique fauna and relict plants. Against the backdrop of exotic nature, a love story unfolds, unlike any other you will ever read. Severyn Budrys from his native Belarus finds himself in a country where an angry chipmunk scolds unwanted guests, and a leopard roams around the hunting lodge at night. There, a giant moth, the "Blue Underwing," flies to the light of a lantern, and ginseng secretly blooms. And on bare stones and rocks, a strange plant — chazenia — lives its short life. The woman Severyn meets there, Grazhyna Arsayla, is also shrouded in mystery. No matter what lands Uladzimir Karatkevich's hero wanders to — North Africa, the Pacific Ocean, Scotland — everywhere he will remember his "blue-blue" Belarus.
