A moody collection of stories about a town where artists and poets spend their summer vacations.
Artists like to spend the traditional two months of vacation – July and August – in the picturesque Polish town of Kazimierz Dolny. And it seems that two different moons shine from the sky then. When one rises, the local residents-gophers go to bed. The second, completely different, lures inspired artists, poets, entertainers and musicians for long night walks.
After the collection was published in 1933, Kazimierz Dolny became an extremely fashionable resort. Since then, tourists visiting the town have been looking for the described places.
