"Na 'Start' i 'Temp'" (At the 'Start' and in 'Tempo') is a unique book about the history of Orsha football. It contains memoirs, statistics, archival materials, and rare photographs, many of which are published for the first time. This publication introduces the reader to little-known pages of regional sports development and fascinates with stories about the teams and people who created the football glory of the Orsha region.

***
In this extraordinary book, you will find a narrative primarily about "Start" from Vorša and "Temp" from Barani, who performed successfully for a long time in the Belarusian championship and other tournaments. There is also a wealth of information, statistics, and stories about other teams that defended the honor of the Orsha region on the football fields: "Lokomotiv," "Stankabudaynik," "Dynamo," "Spartak," "Lyenokombinat," "AviaDar," "Kolas" from Ustse.

  • how Orsha football developed from the very first sports societies to today;
  • how Orsha residents almost won the first unofficial championship of Belarus;
  • which Orsha team participated in the first match at the new Dynamo stadium in Minsk;
  • in which seasons a relative of the classic of Belarusian literature, Uladzimir Karatkevich, played for "Start";
  • which men's team in the Orsha region was led by a woman;
  • where the first self-sustaining club in Belarus appeared;
  • how coaches agreed with the referee and filled out a match protocol that never actually took place;
  • interesting coincidences and records in the games of Orsha players;
  • rare photographs, some of which are published for the first time;
  • a glossary of original Belarusian sports vocabulary.

Artyom Sizintsau graduated from the Institute of Journalism at BSU in Minsk and earned a master's degree in Belarusian philology from the University of Warsaw. He worked for the newspapers "Vsyo o futbole" (Everything about Football), "Pressbol," on Radio "Stalitsa," and for a number of other publications. He is a long-time sports blogger and often acts as a sports expert in the media.

He began writing the book "Na 'Start' i 'Temp'" in 2011, meticulously collecting information from various sources, working in archives and libraries, and conversing with former and current players, fans, journalists, and statisticians.

Uladzimir Khilmanovich, journalist, football statistician:
Artyom Sizintsau's book, dedicated to the history of regional football, seems to have no analogues in domestic book publishing. At least I have not seen a similar publication in Belarus, and even more so — in Belarusian.

Vitaŭt Rudnik, journalist and coach:
Many interesting historical facts and discoveries, good language, carefully collected statistics, work with many sources, all written from a Belarusian-centric perspective. I think this will be one of the best works on the history of Belarusian football.
