The Belarusian national idea in exile and at war

This book is a testament to the indomitable Belarusian spirit. In 67 interviews, Belarusians from around the world and from the front share their experiences: how to remain Belarusians in exile, how to fight for freedom in times of war, and how not to lose your humanity. The new volume "Idea X" reveals new aspects of national identity through the real stories of those who live and fight outside the borders of Belarus.

The third volume in the Euroradio book series about where we come from, who we are and where we are going. The book contains 67 interviews conducted by Euroradio editor Zmitser Lukashuk as part of the “Idea X” program. They are dedicated to how to remain Belarusian even in a distant foreign country and how to remain human even during war. This time, the heroes of the book include both representatives of the “young diaspora” from Poland, Lithuania or Georgia, and those Belarusians who left abroad many years ago, who were scattered across both continents — Belarusians from the USA and Canada, Brazil and Australia, Israel and New Zealand. In addition, the heroes of the book include real heroes — those Belarusians who fight for the freedom of Ukraine and Belarus in the Kalinoski Regiment, the “Terror” battalion, the “Pahonia” Regiment, and in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
