author of the poetry collections “Bylina Maya, Belarus” (Ottawa, 2000), “Krynitsa” (Minsk, 2011), “Pakul Nashyya Anely Lyotayuts Nad Akiiyanam” (Ottawa, 2012), “Kolery” (Minsk, 2018), “Kakhayu… Lyublyu…” (Bialystok, 2024). His poems have been published in “Nasha Niva” (Minsk), the magazine “Krynitsa” (Minsk), the newspapers “Belaruskaye Slova” (Toronto) and “Belarus” (New York), as well as in almost all issues of the almanac “Belarus” (New York).
Piotra P. Murzionak was born into a family of teachers in the Lastavichy District of the Vitebsk Region. He is a Doctor of Medical Sciences and has over 160 scientific publications in the field of physiology and immunology. A quarter of a century ago, in 1998, he moved with his family to Canada. Before leaving, he held the position of head of the Department of Applied Physiology at the Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and professor and head of the Department of Immunology at the A. D. Sakharov Environmental University.
From the very beginning, he has taken an active stance in Belarusian affairs within the diaspora:
- Chairman of the Belarusian Institute of Science and Art in Canada (BINiM, Canada (2017 – present);
- Chairman of the Belarusian Canadian Alliance (2001–2005);
- Member of the Main Board of the Belarusian Canadian Alliance (2001 – present);
- Chairman of the Ottawa Branch of the Belarusian Canadian Alliance (2000–2022);
- Founder and editor of the web-magazine “Culture. Nation”, ISSN 2291-4757 (2013 – present).
Awarded the medal “100 Years of BPR”.
As editor
of the magazine “Culture. Nation” (www.sakavik/net) he devotes much attention to issues of national building. Over 12 years (2013–2024), 34 issues of the magazine contained
464 materials and 1633 photos and illustrative materials from 86 authors, including 29 authors from Belarus, 32 from Canada, 7 from the USA, three from Poland, two from Brazil and from other countries. More than 40 articles directly belong to him, dedicated to the building of the Belarusian nation, including those published in peer-reviewed journals.
He is a co-author of “The Strategy for the Development of the Belarusian Nation” (2016), together with I. Khadarenka, A. Kasho, A. Anisim, A. Trusau.
Author of three publicistic books: “Paths to the Belarusian Nation” (Minsk: “Knihazbor”, 2016, 344 pp. ISBN 978-985-7144-53); “What Every Belarusian Should Be Proud Of”

Piotra Murzionak's scientific conclusions in the field of nation-building have been widely presented at various international forums: Toronto (2017), the II Congress of Belarusians Abroad (2021), Warsaw (2021, 2022), Kaunas (2021), Montreal (2021), and in Ottawa (2016, 2021, 2024).
