Popal-Vukh: The Book of the Family Community

The mythological and epic work "Popal-Vuh", composed in the middle of the 16th century. by anonymous representatives of the Maya-Kiche people, the inhabitants of present-day Guatemala, belongs to the very few surviving monuments of the literature of the indigenous peoples of America. The Belarusian translation of this work is based on the results of the latest research devoted to its decoding and interpretation by scholars from America and Europe. The introductory word for Belarusian readers was written by the author of the comments to this work, a literary scholar from the USA, Dr. Allen Christensen.
