A cozy editorial office of a capital magazine or a trendy hipster co-working space could have been such a place. But it became grandfather's house in Polesia, on the edge of Belarus, at the crossroads of worlds. This book is not about how to restore a semi-ruined house, plant a garden, milk a goat, live in a village and not become an alcoholic. This book is about how to restore a semi-ruined self. Maybe it's about returning to one's roots, to one's native linguistic and cultural element, and about how important it is not to lose grandmother's tales. Or maybe it's about becoming one's own self.
