Nine years ago, the author of the book embarked on a grand journey into the world of Belarusian rural magic. The dream was a series of portraits of the bearers of the most secret and protected tradition of healing with words. From village to village, through his travels, he sought sorceresses, healers, and herbalists.

In the book, the reader will be able to experience the taste of the journey and the almost vanished world of tradition. Life confessions, healing practices, and all dialogues are conveyed in the dialects that the healers use in their lives. The book vividly combines field notes from expeditions with the author's travel notes.
