Nine years ago, the author of the book planned a great journey into the world of Belarusian village magic. His dream was a series of portraits of the bearers of the most closed and protected tradition of healing with words. From village to village, through travels, he searched for witches, healers and herbalists.

In the book, the reader will be able to feel the taste of travel and the almost disappeared world of tradition. Life confessions, medicinal practices and all dialogues are conveyed in the speech that healers use in life. The book vividly combines field notes from expeditions and the author's travel notes.
