Sonm-Grass (grammar)

"Sonm-Trava" is a unique collection by Andrei Bursav, which includes works from previous books, new poems, translations, as well as texts that have long been scattered around the Internet. This is a literary alchemical experience in which language becomes magic: the author uses his own aesthetic spelling, combines Old Belarusian, English, and fantasy - and offers the reader a difficult but sublime route through words and thoughts.

Andrei Bursav's new book turned out to be a shocking, indescribably beautiful meteor shower on the horizon of Belarusian literature. The poet, translator, artist and linguist questions the foundations of both narkomavka and tarashkevitsa, and offers his own intricate and aesthetic orthography, which with a light touch of a magician awakens the old Belarusian language. Thanks to the poet's talent, the tradition of "intelligent language" continues in the 21st century, the incredible linguistic and content constellations of which we will find in the texts of Lewis Carroll, Khvedar Sologub, Vaclav Lastovsky, Velimir Khlebnikov, futurist and Dadaist poets.
