"Transit Diary" is a personal and philosophical manifesto of the artist Alexei Kuzmich, one of the most radical representatives of Belarusian art activism. His work is in dialogue with the traditions of the avant-garde, corporeality and institutional criticism. This book is not just a document of the era, but a challenge to the standards of art perception, a demand for the understanding of freedom, faith and human vulnerability. Suitable for those interested in modern art, philosophy, and bold artistic statements.

Aleksey Kuzmich is a significant figure in the contemporary art of Eastern Europe and the world. In his practice, Kuzmich develops the tradition of artistic activism that arose after the Second World War as a rethinking of the humanistic role of art in response to the strategy of its instrumentalization by totalitarianism and public consumption. Kuzmich's art is a social and institutional critique of the world order, continuing the lines of Joseph Beuys, Orlan, Marina Abramovich, Oleg Kulik, Pussy Riot. Moreover, Kuzmich revives the ontological connection between art and the truth of art, overcoming the world trend of its simplification and political expression. Kuzmich's work is in a natural and logical dialogue with the tradition of the Enlightenment, liberalism, sociology of Georges Bataille, Jean Baudrillard, and Alain Badiou. The development of civilization, democracy, humanism is impossible without breaking taboos. The time we call new arises in drama and in connection with the French Revolution. This must be taken into account and taken into account when considering the work of the artist Alexey Kuzmich. He is one of the few people who still have Voltairean audacity of conscience.
Konstantin Doroshenko, curator of contemporary art, member of the International Association of Art Critics AICA
