The new book of prose by Boris Petrovich includes two stories and an essay. This is an exciting journey through the recognizable landscapes of Minsk and other cities and towns of Belarus, as well as an acquaintance with extraordinary people who became the heroes of the works. In the first story, a “naive detective” investigates the mysterious death of a grandmother-neighbor in Minsk, in the second, a journalist-specialist tells about his almost adventures during business trips around Belarus. The essay is dedicated to the events of the first post-Chernobyl month in the Gomel Polesie.
Boris Petrovich was born in 1959 in the Gomel region. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Belarusian State University. He worked in the newspapers “Gomelskaya Pravda”, “Zvyazda”, “Literature and Art”, and the magazine “Polymya”. In 2002 he founded and became the editor-in-chief of the literary magazine “Dzeyaslov”, in 2011 he was elected chairman of the Union of Belarusian Writers. Author of the books: “Lovy”, “Son mizh pachvar”, “Freskie”, “Shchaste byt”, “Zhyt ne strashna”, “Pilipiky”, “Ploshcha”, “Spakushenie”, “Spachu byla temra”, “Idi adin” and others.

The works have been translated into English, French, German, Swedish, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Czech, Bulgarian, Lithuanian and other languages. Among the most successful translations are the books “Fresker”, “Torget” and “Belarus: Fresker”, rewritten in Swedish by Dzmitry Plaks.
