Valentina Aksak's new book will make some readers want to throw more wood onto the fire beneath the author. Or turn to the famous Polotsk executioner Balthazar to sharpen his axe. Readers from the Inquisition would have done just that. The poetess, who imagined herself on Christ's knees, in our time, the law allows her to be
to remain alive. Her works, which go beyond the bounds of chastity, can be burned, for the author dines, and not only, with another's lover. And yet, for a fair verdict, it is worth reading what is written between the lines of this book.
