The monograph is dedicated to the personality of Anton Grinevich — a collector of folklore, composer, teacher and publisher. At the center of his life and work — the orientation towards the Belarusian cultural revival: from the organization of a private publishing house to the collection and popularization of folklore, teaching and preparation of music textbooks. Based on archival materials, some of which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, the book recreates little-known stages of A. Grinevich's biography, shows the role of folklore in the process of national construction in the first third of the 20th century. His contribution to the development of national culture is reinterpreted from modern perspectives.
