From Porto to Santiago: A Pilgrimage Diary. Stefan Korf
Every year, nearly half a million people traverse the medieval route of hundreds of kilometers to the relics of Saint James, one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. To receive an indulgence — or simply to reset and get to know themselves better. Belarusians also walk this path: you don’t have to be a believer or a sinner to set yourself a goal and achieve it alongside pilgrims from all over the world.
This book is a diary from such a journey. In September 2025, Stefan Korf walked from Porto to Santiago in eleven days and recorded his experiences and impressions. But be careful: after reading this, you will definitely want to walk this path yourself.
Stefan Korf is a programmer, writer, and blogger who has been living in Lithuania for several years. He is a graduate of the "Young Writer's School." In 2018, his historical fantasy book "Polesian Diary of Sierakowski's Division" was shortlisted for the "Debiut" award.
After moving, he began to take an interest in how Belarusian culture in emigration integrates into global and local contexts, how Belarusians leave their marks, and, in general, where Belarus lives now.
